Get-Well Clinic opens in New Jersey – IMI adds a new dimension to its global projects

IMI’s First Clinic in North America: The most recent addition to IMI's chain of Get Well Clinics is the one that opened recently in Kendal Park, New Jersey. A study conducted by IMI found that there was a large population in the community that is either uninsured or underinsured. When the breadwinner of such a family falls sick, it can be catastrophic for the family as well as the relatives that this person is supporting back home.

Get Well Clinic aims to help such people ... because we believe that good health is vital for our community to prosper.The clinic is open every other Saturday with leading physicians from the community volunteering their services. Patients are being provided free consultations, free medicines and subsidized lab services. There is also a trained office manager, nursing staff and pharmacist to run the clinic in a very professional manner. The physicians at the clinic and IMI are both covered by extensive liability insurance. This has ensured that the participation of the very best of physicians without any liability concerns. IMI organized an open house on February 7 & 8, 2004 at the Get Well Clinic which was very well attended. The community welcomed this effort and pledged all possible support to make it a success.

Based on the success of this clinic, IMI has received an offer from a group of physicians in Washington DC – Maryland area to open a similar Get-Well Clinic there. It is being studied at this time, and after necessary approvals, we will start working on that axis too.

The insurance cover for the clinic and the day to day management requires a lot of funds. As mentioned above, this clinic is saving the community thousands of dollars by treating the patients who cannot afford expensive healthcare. Compared to that, the funds required to run the clinic are nothing. We ask all of you to please make this investment in the health of the community to give it strength and prosperity that it deserves.
